Coleman Engle (check out his site, he’s an amazing cartoonist/illustrator, who I’m totally intimidated by) sent me this stunning celebration of the two most righteous babes of the Intrepideers, Duum and Setsuko. It absolutely blew my mind when I opened it up.

Here’s how it works, if you couldn’t already imagine.
Thanks Coleman!
That Salty Air received a nice shout-out for it’s cover design in COMIC BOOK DESIGN by Gary Spencer Millidge. (I met Gary at San Diego in 2008 and picked up his comic StrangeHaven, of which I’m a huge fan, and I can’t wait for the next volume.) I’ve been reading through the book for the past few weeks and have realized that I have a lot to learn about design. Good thing the book breaks it down in way that even I can understand it. I recommend checking it out.

I’ve started a new mini project in my sketchbook where I do pages without penciling, with no idea where the story will head, while also trying to learn how to hatch correctly, or in a way that isn’t horrible. It’s a fun little experiment.

Brett and I reprinted our Intrepideers comics for the Chicago Comic Con in two new color variations.

We’ve got tons of copies, so if anyone’s interested in purchasing, check out the store!
While everybody else in the universe was at the San Diego Comic Con a few weeks ago, Buddy and I saw this whistlepig chilling on ledge.
